Inspiration... (NSFW..NUDITY)

I've always cut out pics from magazines that inspire me in some way. Whether its makeup, hair, outfits, or the picture concept itself. I usually file them in binders based on each category and refer to them when I need some inspiration. Usually before a night out I'll flip open the hair and makeup binder and pick a look that goes with my outfit or pick an outfit from the style folder that helps me come up with what to wear. I'm super organized and anal (clearly.) Now I do it with online pics and seperate them into folders, so I thought it would be fun to share various pics I find at any given time that inspire me in some way, so I'll just title these posts simply, "Inspiration". Maybe it will give you some as well. This is the initial post so there are more pics than there probably will be normally, but I had to make up for lost time...

I get it from my mama...

My dope-ness that is! I wasn't lucky enough to get her level of beauty and amazing cheekbones. (or cooking skills.)
My mom is an AAAAA-MAAAAZING artist. I swear sometimes I think she should have just been selfish and pursued her dreams of being a famous artist and left my poor love stricken father heartbroken so he'd be forced to marry some sub-par woman. But instead, she chose to have my brother and me and be the best Mommy in the whole wide world. (I guess it worked out for me). But I still have hope that her big break is coming. In fact, as soon as I have some spare time I am going to become her agent and get her the recognition she deserves.

Below are some of her older pieces, these are all in my apartment, she's currently in a very fashion inspired phase (she's gone through all kinds of different periods and phases, but this is by far my fav. and I really believe her true calling). She is working on some really amazing pieces, and I will have more pics soon! Until then, enjoy these...I'll make this a regular post and update all her new work. So if any gallery owners or art dealers/collectors are reading, contact me and we'll make some magic happen! ;)

What I wore Today....11/13/08

I had a really short day at work today, then I came home made a little Italian dinner and took 3 hours to open my wine because apparently I am incapable of opening a bottle of wine without a man's help (at least with this weird new cork screw)...

My besty Jason saw the last post about geek chic and told me about the Tom Ford 5012 style glasses. As I was doing a search for them, I ran into the Spring/Summer 2008 menswear ads.

How did I miss these??????

It just made my week. Gorgeous men in preppy and geek chic styles. Old style glamour and suits. Fierce women. It's too much. Sensory overload. Can't handle...

Who knew Steve Urkel would ever be a style icon? Geek chic seems to be newest craze spreading in Hollywood and beyond, sometime's it just looks ridiculous, but some people make it look hot, here are a few of my favs:

So, I happened to have a pic with some glasses on, they are more Sarah Palin than Geek Chic, but I'll look into getting a pair that's more Urkel-esque.
