THE CITY!
Can we talk about it please?
Look, I'll be honest with you kids, I've never watched an entire episode of Laguna Beach or the Hills. Those youngsters make my brain hurt and none of them are good looking, so it really just doesn't manage to engage any of my senses.
But, as soon as I heard Olivia Palermo was going to be on The City, I knew I had to watch, and I was not at all dissapointed. I'm pretty sure I only blinked during commercial breaks.
There's no way I would enjoy it if it wasn't set in NY. So thank God for that. And while I still think its super fake and just shows how shallow, petty and immature people can be (and considering the shit hole I live in, I don't need any reminders of that on my off time) I still loved every minute.
This will definitely keep me going until either:
A.) The Rachel Zoe show comes back on.
B.) I move back to NY.
C.) I lose this 15 lbs I am determined to rid myself of to have skinny legs once and for all.
D.) All of the above.

i seem to have too much time on my hands
I also made my Christmas cards this year and baked tons of holiday cupcakes.
I had my mom sketch a fabulous girl holding a champagne flute (she's going to start giving me fashion illustration lessons, so by next Christmas I'll be talented enough to make the sketch myself) Then I filled in the sketch with color, glitter and rhinestones. Each card was one of a kind and I made a total of 20. The first 10 were enjoyable after that I was cramping up and feeling exhausted, lol. But, it was all worth it!

it's a christmas miracle!
idle hands are the devil's workshop
So, I did a lil' DIY project the other night and studded these boots. I had planned to do the entire boot a la Christian Louboutin, but I couldn't reach my hand in properly with my tools to get to the front of the boots, so unless I find a better tool, the best I can have is the top half. I think I'm gonna add a few more to the front, its a little scarce there.
I'm not crazy about the fact that these boots have a red sole, since it makes it look like a Louboutin knock off, but I liked the style of the boot, so I didn't have much of a choice.
Next project, this necklace....

Praise Alaia! Shoegasm of the Week!
How dope would it have been if this was the shoe that journalist threw at Bush...get it? Allah? Alaia? Ok, apparently I'm only funny to myself. And you know what? That's just fine.

Ahhh, I remember being 10 years old and salivating over my mom's best friend's collection of body hugging Alaia dresses. She never had a daughter, only sons...Maaaan, can I get some vintage hand me downs please?
In case you weren't aware, this sudden bandage dress craze was actually huge in the 90's, and even though Herve Leger gets all the credit Azzedine Alaia was the originator. He's amazing and truly underappreciated.

SIA
I saw a post about her on Kanye's blog last week, and after watching this video I was hooked. I bought the c.d. and I love it and its been on heavy rotation in my car. I suggest you pick it up (along with Lykke Li's c.d.)

(I'm going to add a permanent disclaimer on the site, but I will say it here too, I get my pics from all over the net, I will put an effort to try to save the pic with the site or source I got it from, but often I will forget. I am constantly saving pics so its gets hard to keep track. If you see one of your pics and want credit for it or want it taken down, please contact me. I don't do it on purpose, I just dont always remember. Thanks!)

Day.Off.
My objective for today is to stay in my robe in my bed for as long as possible. I'm just going to look at blogs, catch up on emails, plan the week ahead and get up only to go buy a pair of sequin leggings I've been obsessing over.
If I can accomplish all this, I will consider it a very productive day.
Objectove for tomorrow: Get through defensive driving school without stabbing myself with a pencil.
Pray for me.

We Don't Believe you, You need more People....
"I have no plans to leave American Vogue now or in the foreseeable future," said Vogue editor Anna Wintour to the New York Observer as she was walking out of the Plaza Thursday morning.
Out with the old, in with the new. I want this to play out the way "The Devil Wears Prada" should have ended.
Bring Carine to American Vogue! I need the possibility of a run in and daily paparazzi shots to fill me with inspiration and glee.

Currently Obsessing Over...
-Parisian interiors and Parisian Living
-The idea of moving back to NY for a while
-Carine Roitfeld
-Apparently, Ballet flats, because I litterally bought 5 pairs today.
-Norma Kamali's line for Wal-Mart (of all places)
-Leopard everything (I think that's a lifelong obsession)
-Belgian choclates from Trader Joe's (to die!)
-Finding fabulous new fashion blogs
-Dirty Martinis (shaken, not stirred)
-Homemade cheese quesadillas (I have to stop)
